SoSensational’s Goldilocks Style Theory started in Puerto Banus, Marbella, in that strange period between Christmas and New Year.
It emerged in a restaurant one lunch-time after Jan observed two women, both apparently of similar ages (early 50s, in Jan’s view). One was wearing a leather dress, a faux fur coat, crystal necklace, highlights, lots of make-up; the other was in black trousers, a grey sweater, well cut but faded hair, no make-up.
One was “too much”, one was “too little”. Neither had their style “Just Right”. Hence the emergence of SoSensational’s Goldilocks Style Theory of Getting It Just Right…
“We can’t afford to look blousy or we’ll be labelled as a slapper,” said Jan. “ But, equally, we can’t afford to be too timid or too conservative as we will get overlooked. Every one of us, whether slim or not-so-much, still has the potential to carry on looking sensational.”
“There’s a very old saying ‘fine feathers make fine birds’. That could easily imply we need to spend a lot, (i.e. wear ‘fine’ clothes). But great clothes that suit us, put together with clever accessories, don’t have to cost a lot,” adds Jan.
In one of her most famous quotes, Coco Chanel said: “Before you walk out the door every day, take something off.”
SoSensational says: “Before you walk out the door every day, put something on”. Or at least consider putting something on. Because when we are young and vibrant we can afford to dress and accessorize in a minimalist way; but as we age, we inevitably fade a little (or a lot) and maybe need a little more help to stay looking sensational forever; SoSensational is here to help every woman strike the perfect balance between “too much” and “too little.”
