Like Dame Judi Dench, Julie Walters has become a bit of a national treasure…
The Birmingham-born British actress, star of Billy Elliott, Mamma Mia, Educating Rita and so many more brilliant films, was 66 earlier this week – on February 22nd to be precise. So, Happy Birthday Julie, from Jan and Cyndy and the whole team at SoSensational. We all think you are pretty special because you are so you…You have developed a really strong style which plays up your natural advantages and gives you a youthful look without you looking as if you are trying too hard…
We love that terrific short hair-cut. SoSensational is very much in favour of great short cuts. It suits Julie’s face and it suits her style of dressing which with all that black and bold jewellery, has a rather chic, French sensibility which we admire and believe is worth copying.
Steal her style by honing in on the apparent simplicity of her look. She has chosen black, but if you don’t look so good in black, follow her lead but with another dark neutral, such as midnight blue/dark-navy or chocolate brown. We especially love that black tuxedo jacket paired with the crisp white shirt. A tux is the kind of brilliant basic every grown-up woman should have in her closet as a go-to outfit builder. It could be worn with black jeans and a crisp shirt, as Ms Walters is wearing it, or it would look equally good worn over a dress, atop a jumpsuit or teamed with a skirt or wide-leg trousers plus a little vest tucked inside.
Here’s how to steal her style…
