Hello September! Those colder months will soon be rolling in. There’s something about September that gives us that encouragement to get things organised and try out something new! Now we’re not talking anything drastic like starting roller skating classes (I certainly do not have the balance for that!), but a few small things which will hopefully blossom into positive habits over time. Need suggestions? We’ve got you:
1. Sort out your wardrobe
It’s officially Autumn on the 22nd of this month. Therefore, we’re going to be putting our summer dresses away until next year and opting for more transitional pieces such as, long sleeve midi dresses and our beloved cardigans.
It’s a good idea this month to change up your wardrobe, fill it with the clothes that you plan to wear on a daily basis and have a few options in case of a sudden heatwave (stranger things have happened!). Pop your main collection of summer styles into a suitcase and store away elsewhere to free up space in your wardrobe, this makes putting outfits together a far simpler process.
2. Update your skincare routine
As the colder weather rolls in, it’s a good idea to change up our skincare routine slightly. Opt for a richer moisturiser during the day and a night oil to lock in moisture.
To avoid chapped lips always pop a heavy duty lip balm in your handbag!
3. Try out a cosy new hobby
September is a lovely time to try out a new hobby. Many of us struggle during the winter, so filling our spare time with something that is both fun and rewarding to do is essential. Whether it be journaling, crocheting, scrapbooking or reading, find a hobby which you’re excited to do and is possible even on those dreary days.
4. Go outside
Now this is a given no matter what time of year it is. However, as those darker nights roll in many of us can experience Seasonal Affective Disorder of some kind. Therefore, lets encourage ourselves to get out as much as possible during daylight hours. Go on walks, gentle exercise or simply meet friends for coffee outside – it really does make a difference!
5. Update your space
Change up your home summer decor for something a little more autumnal. Pop cosy blankets around the house to keep warm on those chillier evenings and have a general sort out of any clutter collected over the summer. A clutter free home helps to encourage a clutter free mind.
We hope September brings you joy, a fresh start and fun new hobbies which you can take with you into autumn and winter. Stay fabulous!
