You will have spotted that this blog refers to helpful things for every MoB to carry in their handbags.
Now SoSensational doesn’t want you to run away with the idea we are helping the Mafia or, indeed, any mobsters, or that our advice might include carrying a handgun!
We feel sure you know that MoBs are Mothers of the Bride, though the advice we offer in our blogs could equally apply to Mothers of the Groom, as their need to shine on this special wedding day is as acute as that of the bride’s mother; some might say their task in putting together an outfit is even tougher. Because, in addition to all the usual requirements of looking fabulous, glamorous and appropriate and not making the kind of mistakes that will make her weep every time she views the wedding video, the Mother of the Groom is also required not to look as if she is trying to upstage the bride’s mother –a tough call. Whether you are to be the Mother of the Bride or the Mother of the Groom, you will find lots of great advice here.
-
A fresh pack of pocket tissues – for herself and other members of the wedding party. If you are offering tissues, they look so much nicer from a packet than DIY folded ones from a big box at home
-
A few hair grips – you just never know when you or the bride might need to take control of an unruly tendril!
-
Reading glasses – not only so you can follow the service, but so you can spot any unwelcome bits of grit or dirt on the bridal gown or on the clothes of any members of the wedding party
-
Bach’s Rescue Remedy – a handbag sized 7ml bottle of this de-stressing potion to keep your nerves and everyone else’s under control
-
3 or 4 cotton buds – these are brilliant for removing mascara smudges from under eyes after everyone has had a little cry at the marriage ceremony
And do remember to relax and smile. The happy atmosphere at the wedding is what everyone will remember, long after they have forgotten the food and the outfits!

The petite outfit looks very fresh, smart and comfortable. A strong contender for a wedding I am attending in 2016.
Hi Shelagh Thanks so much for letting us know you approve! If you are thinking of getting the outfit, we know that the jacket is quite low on stock so if they have your size now, it might be worth investing. Whatever you do choose, we hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding and enjoy looking sensational! Cyndy
Being 6ft 1ins tall I would have to go for the maxi dress which would probably be just below the knee! My Son is planning on getting married in 2017
How exciting for you Crystal! Interestingly, brands are now becoming aware that tall women have clothing needs too, along with plus and petite. We will certainly be looking out for them. All the best.
