Thursday 24th March is national Wear A Hat Day in support of brain tumour awareness.
Run by national charity, Brain Tumour Research, Wear A Hat Day is the UK’s main brain-tumour awareness event, helping to support long-term research to move the UK closer to a cure for this disease.
Because Jan had a brain tumour and is still in recovery from its devastating impact, SoSensational is proud to support this event – Jan, Cyndy and the team will be wearing hats on March 24th and will be posting pictures, so do look out for their hattie selfies on social media.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. The aim of Brain Tumour Research is to fund brain tumour research at the same level as research into leukaemia, breast and other cancers.
Brain Tumour Research is working to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research. The charity’s vision is to find a cure for brain tumours.
Their mission is to build a network of experts in sustainable brain tumour research. At the current rate of spend, it could take 100 years for brain tumour research to catch up with developments in other diseases and find a cure.
By getting involved in Wear A Hat Day you, too, could help this cause, joining celebrities such as Sheila Hancock, Sarah Beeny, Jacqui Oatley and boxer Ricky Hatton.
So here’s what you can do. Just send us a head and shoulders shot of you wearing a hat over the Easter weekend, or tag us in your selfies on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and SoSensational will donate £1* to Brain Tumour Research. We’ll publish as many pics as we can and give a £20 prize for the best pic to be spent at any brand on SoSensational. See full Terms and Conditions below.
SoSensational believes this is a worthwhile and important cause. We hope you will, too… If you would like to donate, please click here, or simply wear a hat on March 24th to help make people more aware.
