Autumn and winter bring a whole new set of stunning hues to inspire your next makeup looks. Whether matching your appearance to falling autumn leaves or creating a glamorous look ready for your Christmas party, there are so many new opportunities for a stunning new style this season. But, SoSensational ladies, where to start? We’ve taken the time to take the stress out of knowing what will suit you at your age, so you can concentrate on the joy of picking your new favourite cosmetics and looking fabulous on your occasion!
We’ve split our makeup looks into each seasonal colour palette. First of all, you need to know your colour so we’ve put together a little quiz for you. Once you know your colour, scroll down for our fabulous tips!
Spring looks
For a casual look, we’ve chosen simple, warm colours to complement your tone. We love elf’s simple eyeshadow duo, in a warm brown and golden copper tone. Combined with Benefit’s Cheekathon kit, we’re sure you’ll have the perfect blush shade for a simple yet sweet makeup look. For night, YSL’s Singular Taupe matte stain gives your lips a youthful pop of colour (plus, you’re never too old for a fabulous matte lip), and the fabulous Stars In Your Eyes palette from Charlotte Tilbury features some stunning pink and natural shades for a sweeping rose gold eye look for a touch of glitz and glamour.

Summer looks
Summer’s makeup look is about taking an English garden’s stunning floral shades and using this for a chic appearance. Sleek’s blush palette provides a variety of colours, but we’d choose the Pink Mint shade, lightly brushed over your cheeks for a colourful pop that looks gorgeous with Mac’s Powder Kiss lipstick in A Little Tamed; a mix of soft-focus colours for a sensational dewy effect. Our night-time look is a more vibrant take of a country garden, with the stunning Optic Rose Shiseido Lipshine, and a dramatic glittery Bourjois Quad Smoky Stories Eyeshadow Palette in Over Rose for a touch of elegance.

Autumn looks
Inspired by fall leaves and cosy coffees, our autumn look uses rich browns and warm berry colours for both subtle and dramatic palettes. Our daytime look features Revolution Pro’s 4K Bronzer Palette in ‘Warm’; a palette specifically created for your fabulous skin tone! To complete the gentle look, we’ve chosen a simple matte nude lip pigment from Nars. For the evening, we’ve taken the rustic, rich colours of your palette to create a modern, bold look. Morphe’s 35O2 Second Nature Eyeshadow palette features all the colours an autumn could ever need. Don’t be afraid to go for some of the striking bolder shades; they’ll suit your skin perfectly. Combine some of the shades of the Morphe palette with Chanel’s Rouge Coco Gloss in Caractere for a berry-tinged punch to your neutral look.

Winter looks
We’ve created an ice-cool casual look for you, winter. A quick look at the colours may feel quite young, but we can assure you they look absolutely fabulous on women of all ages. L’Oreal Paris’ Berry Much Love eyeshadow palette is filled with icy berry shades that would look just fabulous on your skin. For a simple daytime look, we’d recommend the greys, blues or lilacs to make your eyes pop. Pair this with Charlotte Tilbury’s Beach Stick in Moon Beach in Formentera for a berry shade that will give your cheekbones real structure and your cool skin a rosy flush. For the evening, don’t be afraid to don a bright lip for a glamourous look with Clinique’s Raspberry Pop Lip Colour and Primer. A smoky eye looks fabulous on winter tones, so Clarin’s 4 Colour Eye Palette in Smoky sets off a glamorous look.
