A cruise is like any other holiday; just more so…
It is quite safe to forget any advice you may have been given about needing armfuls of formal evening wear for your cruise – that is totally unnecessary these days. Dressing for dinner on a cruise ship is like dressing for dinner in any smart resort hotel… What you will want is a summer dress or two, including at least one maxi which you can glam up with bold jewellery and gold or silver sandals plus jewelled clutch. Also, jumpsuits and evening separates, such as silky vests or tops paired with palazzo trousers look fabulous for on-board dining and sipping cocktails.
Sassy frocks in an on-trend digital print or bold floral, will also work as evening cruise outfits. Just give them the same accessorising treatment as the dresses (gold or silver sandals or pumps and a gorgeous bag that is embellished or in a neutral metallic). That way, the dress can also do double duty for daytime when paired with trainers or flats and a big tote for shore days exploring exciting new places. You will also want gorgeous swimwear and cover-ups for at-sea days, plus casual tops and jeans and trousers for those shore visits. See how to pack less yet always look sensational, in the pictures, below.
