Cyndy and Jan have been trying out some FitFlops from the new season collection:
I have never put on a pair of trainers – ever – that were so comfortable from the first nanosecond!
When I ordered the Uberknit Slip-on Ghillie Sneakers, I was slightly concerned they might ‘flap about’ at the ankles. They don’t. And that they might make my feet look wide. They don’t. They are absolutely wonderful and comfortable and I love them to bits.
So wonderful in fact, that I decided they needed some new fitness wear to enhance the look. A quick search on SoSensational and my new sculpt and lift leggings and down and feather gilet were ordered.
It’s comfort all the way. No wonder Uma Thurman is always smiling!
Obviously it wasn’t news to me that FitFlops are super comfy – that, after all, is what the brand states repeatedly in all itsmarketing.
But as a 60-something with a mile-wide streak of scepticism, born of a looooooong career in media, I remained somewhat sceptical.
But wearing the gorgeous Cova closed-toe metallic-leather sandals around the house and around the office, convinced me that FitFlops are genuinely super comfortable. My toes and my feet were held firmly but gently, the soles of my feet felt good and that engineered sole was especially helpful with my still-wobbly gait.
And, of course, they are gorgeously stylish, too. I don’t have the slenderest ankles and usually avoid ankle-straps as they can make legs appear shorter and ankles look wider but because the Cova is in a tone that is quite close to my skin tone (meaning the ankle-strap is barely visible), the Cova sandals even look amazing with midi-length outfits as well as with trousers and maxis.
And because they’re metallic gold, they are effectively neutral, so they work with almost all colours. Result!
I wore them only around the house and around the office because, well, because it was February when I was trying them out, and even in the cause of being fashion-forward, I’m not prepared to wear sandals outdoors when it’s icy-cold.
But not only can I now not wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear them all the time with all my new spring purchases (and not just indoors), but I realise I’m totally hooked on this level of comfort in footwear…
