If you are a devotee of SoSensational (for which we profoundly thank you), you will have seen our blog of last Thursday with lots of information to help you choose jeans.
In case you missed it, you can find it here.
Jan and Cyndy feel sure you will find it useful because, as we said then, there is very little chance we will be giving up our jeans any time soon. While we may buy other bottom-halves, we tend to go back to denim for weekends and off-duty-wear which is why we have returned to the subject, to see how to style jeans for grown-up women.
We also want to tell you about those jeans which are somewhat disparagingly called Mum Jeans, Mums Jeans or Mom Jeans. At SoSensational we love Mum/Mums/Mom jeans because they are cut to fit real bodies whether you are a mum, a grandma or a 19-year-old who doesn’t have an all-bone-and-sinew body. Brands include NYDJ, which was the pioneer in this market, and now includes many other jeans brands, including Cotton Edits…. Also, if you like the idea of jeans as the foundation of an outfit (especially for layering), but not actual jeans with the complexity of styles, fastening and, occasional, constriction, you may also wish to consider jeggings as a brilliant alternative to jeans.
How To Style GIRLFRIEND/BOYFRIEND Jeans
Girlfriend/ Boyfriend Jeans. Girlfriend jeans are an alternative to easy-to-wear boyfriend jeans. This flattering pair has a slimmer leg than regular Boyfriend Jeans. They’re made from authentic denim which has just enough stretch to be comfortable without losing its shape. Pair with an easy-fitting top that falls below the waistband.
How To Style SKINNY Jeans
Pair with a long cardigan or jacket, plus a tee (that is mainly hidden).
How To Style BOOT-CUT (Mum/mom/mums) Jeans
Tuck in a top or shirt, to balance the slight flare of the jeans.
How To Style STRAIGHT Jeans
We have chosen these genius bottom-lift straight jeans from Cotton Edits with darts and seams to lift and enhance the rear. Pair these with a shortish tee or top or one you can tuck in to show off that “lifted” rear…
