As the lockdown lull is in full force, what better way to cheer us all up by reviewing the new SS21 collection from British brand, Traffic People.
As a brand, they’re a modern icon. They’re designs, influenced by the ’20s and ’30s and through the 20th century, give a modern twist on your going “out out” outfit.
The SS21 collection is of course no different, with powerful florals with a hint of nostalgia throughout. Our favourite dress, the Long Sleeve Midi Willow Dress offers a timeless design with modern statements – the balloon sleeves offer a modern indulgence with the unmistakeable swirl of the 70s.
Finished with a tie fastening belt to bring it in at the waist, this dress creates a statement unlike any other.

For floral lovers, the collection hasn’t left you unnoticed – a key feature of the 50s, floral has boomed in recent seasons driven by a revolution in vintage and retro styles. Likewise if you’re not a dressy person, you’ll love the Hetty Floral Jumpsuit – boldness is Traffic People’s trademark, with gorgeous pink floral prints laced across a well-fitted jumpsuit.
As a short sleeved jumpsuit, it offers a versatile and more casual look, great for dinners out (eventually), but equally just to make a statement every day. We love the wide leg style too – think 70s flares – except with a much more modern appeal.
Priced at £108, its such a reasonable price for a “drama” of a dress.

Verdict
There’s too many pieces we love to name them all. As we come out of lockdowns, able to see friends and socialise, we definitely think this is the year to make a statement comeback; just like florals and flares!
