We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. We love KIN by John Lewis.
Well, now we’ve discovered KIN Limited Edition and we are even more deeply in love.
KIN Limited Edition is a contemporary collection-within-a-collection, also with a crisp, modern aesthetic, relaxed styling, flattering shapes and bold prints. In addition, KIN Limited Edition has a dramatic but grown up and gorgeously wearable fashion-forward vibe.
For KIN Limited Edition, the John Lewis design team collaborated with fashion graduates from Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) who helped create part of the 11-piece Kin Limited Edition collection.
The Limited Edition collection takes its inspiration from Brutalist architecture. But this has been cleverly translated into a series of beautifully dramatic pieces reflecting their architectural heritage via strong silhouettes, monochrome and monochromatic print, while offering supreme wearability.
There are 11 pieces in the KIN Limited Edition collection. We love them all, but here are our top favourites:
This amazing asymmetric maxi dress designed by NUA student, Alice Potts, is one of five stunning LBDs in the KIN Limited Edition collection. We love them all, but especially love the ones, like this, with sleeves. This one has a clever asymmetric neckline and soft pleat detailing.
And this black midi dress by student Daina Eicaite, is another. Designed with contrasting matte and shiny panels, it has an oversized silhouette that drapes softly and features a ruched neckline and asymmetric sleeves.
This amazing knife-pleated A-line dress is a real statement dress for the party season or for a special occasion. The ankle-skimming length and (exclusive) monochromatic graphic print add to the impact. If you prefer to cover your arms, it’s easy-peasy to style this with a black, grey or jewel –colour blazer – or, of course with a white blazer, if you are planning ahead for spring.
The John Lewis design team knows what we all need for the party season – a pair of diaphanous, wide-leg trousers. And, ta-da, here they are – fully lined and with all-over knife pleat detailing. Style with trainers or heels; with an embellished tee or a black blazer – with anything really. These are our winter go-to occasion trousers.
We love this architecturally simple top with its contemporary monochrome print and an asymmetric neckline for extra va-va-voom. Pair it with black jeans or with the knife-pleated black palazzos (above) or with the knife-pleated monochrome-print skirt (below).
This midi dress from Kin by John Lewis with a round neckline and soft pleat detailing is another of the yummy LBDs from NUA students, this one by Sabrina Ng Yee Ki. Make a dramatic exit in this backless beauty.
This A-line maxi skirt with knife pleats and laser-cut hemline in an exclusive monochromatic print would be another party show-stopper, paired with a blazer and/or a top in a matching or contrasting print.
Featuring an all over exclusive urban monochromatic print, this Kin by John Lewis top is part of the limited edition range. Designed by the in-house design team, it features all over knife pleat detail and a contrast trim around the neck line.
