The Lulu Guinness collection is bold, edgy and as Lulu herself describes it, “slightly outré.”
The brand was founded in 1989 when Lulu Guinness was 29. Almost 30 years later, Lulu remains the living, breathing personification of her brand which still has at its heart that iconic bag, the distinctive, Surrealist Lips Clutch.
New for this season, the brand is launching an exciting capsule collection of Lulu’s “wardrobe essentials” that take inspiration from Lulu’s favourite pieces. In their words, “the collection has an emphasis on elegant and sophisticated silhouettes that are wearable and comfortable.” We think the clothing is graphic and grown up as well as being wearable and comfortable. The collection includes clever dresses, witty tops and jumpers, and tailoring. And all of it works for work and could also transition into our weekend (and party) wardrobe, too.
Femininity is fused with practicality and then sprinkled with Lulu’s trademark twist. The signature shirt dress, for example, has a flattering cut and sumptuous fabric in Lips print and details such as red-lip buttons. This AW17 wardrobe staple can be worn by women of all ages and shapes.
DRESSES
We especially love these Lulu Guinness dresses, which we could wear one way for work (oh, you know, flats or chunky boots, opaques and an oversized tote) and another way for going out to dinner or going to a party (heels, clutch, jewels).
SEPARATES
And these edgy separates could definitely find a place in our wardrobe, for work, weekends and, ooh, everything.
FOOTWEAR
The Lulu Guinness collection also features fabulous footwear that is not for the faint-hearted. There are flats and heels that are all super chic and perfect for pairing with all our winter outfits, whether we need boots for work, loafers for loafing at weekend or elegant pumps for parties and occasions.

I love the shoes – at least the lower heeled styles, but particularly the red T strap heart shaped cut out instep ones worn by the model in the front, also the black patent ankle strap ones. In the 60’s I had a pair of the latter – in lilac patent which I loved!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful Judith, if we had enough space – and forsight – to have been able to keep all the pieces we have truly loved over the years. Big sigh…
Everything!
You’re obviously a Lulu Guinness fan Anna-Maria! So are we!
