Scandi style summer fashion is all about clever design, masterful cutting and a brilliant use of colour. Combined with a slight edginess and insouciance, Scandi style creates a seemingly effortless yet super chic summer style 2018.
Debenhams are showcasing Scandinavian style in everything from interiors to summer fashion. Actually, they love it so much they have launched five new Nordic brands to provide us with summer outfits ideas.
We love the Scandi trend, too, so we thought we’d dip into the Debenhams spring summer 2018 collection and bring you our favourite pieces.
SCANDI STYLE
Debenhams have scooped up attention-grabbing designs from five hot Scandi brands to provide summer fashion for women, from clever basics to statement pieces.
There’s Lolly’s Laundry, minimum, Six Ames, mbyM and Stella Nova.
Lolly’s Laundry offers an assortment of understated but luxurious pieces such as the leopard-print chiffon blouse (right) and wide-leg trousers (below, right). The print midi shirt-dress (below, left) is another Lolly’s Laundry piece we love. With its easy-going shape, it is a dress that could be styled with flats-and-a-tote for a flat white with friends, or glammed up for party wear!
With its blend of cool, urban yet strictly feminine designs, mbyM is for those who like to be one step ahead in the fashion game. But as well as being fashion forward, its pieces are easy to wear. We love the bold print half sleeve top (left) which could slip easily into any wardrobe. Meanwhile, the tapered trousers (below left) in matching print, are perfect for parties, resort wear and summer weekends.
MORE SCANDI STYLE
Six Ames offers a Scandi take on French styling that allows you to achieve that coveted Parisian cool.
Chic style is blended with cutting-edge craftsmanship and fashion forward silhouettes to create affordable luxury. The statement jacquard coat (below) is one of theirs that we especially love. Here it is styled for everyday, but it could easily be teamed with a simple dress, plus a clutch and pumps, for a wedding, a day at the races or any other special occasion.
Also inspired by French style with an added dash of Copenhagen cool, Stella Nova offers a collection of everyday classics that can slip seamlessly into every wardrobe. They include this superb striped midi dress (left). The epitome of urban Scandi cool, this could be styled in one way for work, and then up-styled for something special…
Clean lines and urban styling epitomise Danish brand minimum. Its contemporary pieces can be easily mixed together for special occasion dressing and everyday chic.
