It seems the world is beginning to agree with us that you can be sexy at 60.
We have been saying for quite a few years that “You Can Be Sexy at 60” and “You Can Be Sensational (and sexy) at 70”. And, it goes without saying (though we say it, often), “You Can Be Fabulous at 50 (and, of course, sexy, too).”
But elsewhere, until very recently, the phrase “You Can Be Sexy at 60” would have been met with one of those revolting fingers-down-the-throat you-make-me-want-to-vomit gestures… It is the kind of phrase editors and sub-editors would have been too terrified to use in any UK publication.
But after SoSensational began to say it often and loudly (insofar as one can be “loud” online), editors and sub-editors have stopped being quite so scared of saying it, too.
The cover of a recent Sunday Times Culture Magazine featured actress Annette Bening, who is actually just 58 but we assume playing sixty in her film, Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool, in which she plays a former Hollywood leading lady who has an on-screen romance with a much younger actor. To promote the film, the magazine carried her picture with the cover-line “You Can Be Sexy at 60.”
Who knew? Well, SoSensational knew. And now the world is catching up…
(You can see the Annette Bening style steal, here…).
Do you agree you can be fabulous at 50 and sexy at 60?
