Wedding outfits… they certainly aren’t the cheapest of looks! Or, so we’d assume when we head through the high street looking at ranges crafted specifically for Mother of the Bride looks and extravagant wedding guest styles.
Here at SoSensational however, we know that doesn’t have to be the case! We’re all about savvy shopping, so whilst we love the idea of splashing out on a gorgeous Gina Bacconi or Phase Eight dress, sometimes we just want something equally gorgeous, but simply a little bit cheaper. Fortunately, we know all the tricks of the trade, so we’ve put together 4 wedding guest outfits for under £50 to get you ready for your event without breaking the bank!
Choose Glitzy Accessories
A pretty, more casual dress can look oh-so gorgeous when teamed with smart, glitzy accessories! Here, we’ve chosen a simple burgundy wrap dress with dainty dots and frill details. We love this dress for its versatility to dress up or down, so chose the perfect black jacket to ramp up the glamour. With gorgeous brocade trims across the bottom of the jacket and sleeves, the colours neatly tie in with the dress, and the simple shift jacket shape exudes elegance; did we mention it’s only £5?! This left us £27 left to find the perfect glitzy shoes, so we settled on these gorgeous diamante sandals from Quiz at Dorothy Perkins. The black colourway ties in with the jacket, and diamante detailing creates a showstopping look perfect for the main event and the reception.

Colour Matching
If you’ve found the perfect dress and it comes in a multi-coloured floral delight like this Ruffle Floral Midi Dress, match your accessories up to the colours! The trick here is that if the colours are hard to match (The orchid flowers are quite the difficult match), choose lighter shades to avoid colour clashing. The Debut Navy Embellished Shawl is perfect to drape over your arms if you get chilly or don’t want to show them off, and the Faith Lilac Patent Stiletto works as the pastel version of the pretty flowers!
Heels- Debenhams Faith Lilac Patent Chloe Stiletto, sizes 3-7, £24.50
Dress- Everything 5 Pounds Ruffle Floral Midi Dress, sizes 8-16, £5
Shawl- Debenhams Debut Navy Embellished Shawl, £15.40

Colour Blocking
Alternatively to matching with pastels, colour blocking two colours can create an equally showstopping look without the effort! Here, we’ve chosen two shades of blue for a simple ombre inspired look, and a floral shawl with hints of both colours to tie the look together. A simple teal swing dress creates a base layer, and the chunky heeled court shoes complete the look whilst staying comfortable.
Heels- Dorothy Perkins Wide Fit Navy ‘Diva’ Court Shoe, sizes 3-9, £20
