Is your workout wear is a little tired and you want a refreshed look, or you are about to undertake a new fitness regime and aren’t quite sure what to wear?
Look no further than this handy guide to ensure that you look amazing and feel uber confident the next time you workout.
Embrace colour…
Okay, we all love a pair of trusty black work out pants. Whether it is yoga trousers, cropped leggings or some cuffed joggers, they are slimming and an easy go-to. However, exercise wear is the perfect excuse to rock some serious colour, no matter what your age, shape or style. So even if you want to stick with black basics (leggings, say) why not make your top pop with a block-colour vest or add a brightly coloured jacket.
#Tip: A throw-over jacket means that post-workout you can run errands and still look put together.
As well as being stylish, you need to be comfortable but above all get technical: Body shape (and your fitness activity) are the key factors when figuring out what you need to wear. For instance, a hot and sweaty Bikram Yoga session requires a little skin on display, whereas a 5 or 10k run needs the kind of support that allows your body to move freely and without discomfort.
Think first about your chosen activity and what is needed; then think about what works for your body shape. Also, don’t worry about showing off a little more than you might normally as everyone is in the same place for the same reasons – even the perfect student at the front of the class wasn’t that great on day one!
#Tip: Detailed seams give the illusion of a great silhouette whilst you are working towards yours.
#Tip: Cap sleeves give a little extra coverage to the tops of arms
