There’s an important question we need to ask ourselves as we head into spring 2017. “Can I wear pastels?”
And the reason to pose the question? Why, because all the loveliest new spring collections are bursting with beautiful and tempting pieces in delicious pastels, including pink, mint, lilac, blue and, of course, lemon.
For Spring 2017, there’s nothing like a dress, blouse, jumper or a coat in a mouth-wateringly pretty pastel tone to announce to the world that we are embracing the new season’s hottest shades (or perhaps in view of those tones, that we are embracing the new season’s coolest shades).
We are delighted to say that the answer to “Can I wear pastels?” is a resounding “Yes.” However, we acknowledge that women over 50, we do need to be careful around pastels… Which is why we have chosen these elegant, pared-back pieces that are all perfectly appropriate for us, yet still in spring’s most on trend colours.
Frills and bows can have a tendency to make pastels look too girly. However, a strategically-placed frill or bow can work – it requires a judgement call, or, far simpler, checking out all our stunning suggestions, below.
If you don’t want to wear head-to-toe pastels, demonstrate your style savvy this spring with say, a top, jumper or blouse in a pastel , teamed with your favourite denim. Or perhaps a pastel duster coat paired with a simple tee and rugged jeans. Or a pastel skirt plus toning, non-pastel top…. there are lots of ways to wear pastels this spring that are perfect for sensational women…
At SoSensational, the team love all these colours. Tell us your favourite….
