Regular visitors to SoSensational will know that, back in the middle of September, Alice Hart-Davis of the Daily Mail invited me to try out Avon’s revolutionary new Anew AF-33 Line Corrector Treatment.
Naturally, I did so – how could I resist; this was the anti-ageing skincare that celebs such as Claudia Winkleman, Tamsin Outhwaite and Anna Friel had all been cheerleaders for, and that early adopters had said made them decide not to have surgery or Botox.
To measure its efficacy, I was given a VISIA scan at an independent clinic before starting to use the serum, and then again after four weeks.
As regular readers of the Daily Mail will know, the results were quite dramatic. According to the VISIA scan, carried out at the Knightsbridge clinic of Dr Rita Rakus, there was a noticeable improvement in redness, texture, UV damage and brown spots. But, best of all, there was a startling 25% improvement on wrinkles. At the “before” test on September 13, the wrinkles were plus 12 on the scan measurement; on October 10th, the wrinkles had improved by 30% and the texture had improved by 63%.
When I blogged about the great results in October, Avon had sold out of Avon Anew AF-33- despite saying that had enough stock – and then again earlier this month when the product went back on sale. I said then that I would keep on using it, and I have.
I have now been using the Avon Anew AF-33 serum for 11 weeks, which is supposed to be the optimum period for noticeable results. I honestly believe my skin is looking fresher and less lined than it has looked for years… it could, of course, be failing eyesight, but let’s assume it’s the serum!
